While in law school, he was actively involved in many clubs including the Second Amendment Club, Federalist Society, Alternate Dispute Resolution Club, and Christian Legal Society. During his first year of law school he won a prestigious writing contest with an emphasis on wildlife conservation law. He later presented his winning paper at the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies annual conference and was featured in Oklahoma City University's "Law Magazine". His writing abilities helped him secure a judicial internship with the Honorable Judge Gary Lumpkin on the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. After spending over a year at the Court, he was hired by a prestigious criminal defense firm, Coyle Law Firm. It was at the Coyle Law Firm where he learned his craft and developed the skills necessary to aggressively advocate for individuals in need.
